Abstract
Mental rehearsal or imagery is terms referring to the creating or recreating an experience in the mind. The process involves recalling from memory pieces of information stored from experience and shaping these pieces into meaningful images. This study describes an application of the mental rehearsal in the training process of a volleyball girl's team, with ages between 15-17 years. The objective was to demonstrate that the use of the mental rehearsal provides a development of technique skills and improve the efficiency.
Two actions were choosing for: the serve and the serve reception. After three months of program the tests showed a significant improvement in the execution of these actions in the training lessons and also in the official games.
